North Hartland, VT- Lynda Marie DeForge, 65, died Thursday, October 14, 2021 at her home with her beloved spouse and companion of 44 years by her side.

Lynda was born July 27, 1956 in Montpelier, VT, daughter of William and Sylvia (Boyte)  DeForge. She Graduated from Montpelier High School Class of 1974. In 1976 she heard the call to service and joined the Navy. Lynda became a corpsman and was stationed in Pensacola, FL Naval Air Base hospital. This is where she met the love of her life Raquel Ardin. Following her honorable discharge from the Navy she and Raquel made their way to Vermont, they went to work for the US Postal Service in White River Junction where she worked for thirty years before retiring in 2013. Lynda and Raquel were joined in a Civil Union in 1999 in Hartland, VT and were united in marriage in 2009.

Lynda loved to spend time on Facebook.  She was an avid gardener and she loved to spend time outdoors. Lynda and Raquel loved to travel, they made their way around the United States and the world. They absolutely loved Disney World and would Stay at the Disney Shades of Green Resort with fellow Veterans. She said that her dream retirement job would be mowing the lawns at Disney World. She loved the outdoors and was a very talented gardener.

She is predeceased by a brother William DeForge, Jr., and a sister Lenora Greemore.

Lynda is survived by her spouse Raquel Ardin of North Hartland, VT and a brother Thomas DeForge of St. Albans, VT.

A memorial service will be held VT in the chapel at the Vermont Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center, Friday, November 19, 2021 at 11AM. Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction. Condolences to Lynda's family may be expressed in an online guestbook at www.knightfuneralhomes.com .
