West Lebanon, NH – Lynda L. Boehm, 74, died Thursday July 1st at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
She was born February 7, 1936 in Hackensack, NJ a daughter of Edward Carly and Lynda May (Blood) Adams. She grew up and graduated from High School in Ridgefield Park, NJ where she was later married to Charles G. Boehm at St. Mary's Episcopal Church on May 10, 1958. They lived in New Milford, NJ for many years before moving to Dorchester, NH in 1972. They owned and operated Campers Rest, a campground and general store in Dorchester from 1972 until 1977. After selling their business they moved to Enfield, NH, living on Mascoma Lake for several years and then to West Lebanon in 1988 where she has lived since. Locally Mrs. Boehm worked at McNeil's Drugstore, as a cashier at Johnson's Home Center, both in West Lebanon and as the office manager at the College of Life Long Learning in Lebanon.
Lynda was an active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, where she was a member of St. Martha's altar guild, sang in the choir and served as treasurer for several years. Since her husband's death due to cancer in 1998, she has volunteered at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center comforting the families of cancer patients. She was also a past member of the Lebanon Community Chorus. She enjoyed traveling and dancing with her husband particularly ballroom and square dancing. More than anything Lynda enjoyed being with her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband in January of 1998 and her brother Dr. Donald B. Adams in April of 2010.
She is survived by a son Kevin C. Boehm and his wife Judy of Contoocook, NH; a daughter Cynthia M. Boehm-Patenaude and her husband Guy Patenaude of West Lebanon; six grandchildren Alyssa, Matthew and Andrew Boehm as well as Grant, Gabriel and Goel Patenaude; two sisters-in-law June Adams of Newark, OH and Grace Lohyn of Mt. Arlington, NJ and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., VT Saturday July 10th from 4-7PM. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church Monday August 30th at 5PM followed by a committal in St. Paul's Memorial Garden, with a reception following.
