Sunapee, NH – Ludwig Markert, 92, died Tuesday morning, June 6, 2023 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. He was born May 23, 1931 in Hausen, Rhon, Germany the son of Max and Maria (Sopp) Markert.  He grew up and was educated in Germany before moving to the United States, August 8, 1959.  He settled in New York and went right off to work for the LEPEL Corporation as an electromechanic.  Ludwig worked there for over forty years until his retirement.

Ludwig was a very hard worker and a devoted member of the German Catholic Church in New York.

In 2021, due to his failing health, he moved to Sunapee, NH to be closer to his sister and his niece.

Ludwig had two brothers and five sisters.  He is survived by his sister, Rose Toepfer of Windsor, VT and his nieces, Anne Chow  and Karen Stetson also great nieces, Kristina Huffman, Nicole Minsky, Rachel Chow, and Sandra Chow.

At his request a graveside service will be held Saturday, June 10, at 11AM in the Hartland Village Cemetery in Hartland, Vermont.
