Lucille E. McCoy, 86, of Poultney, VT, died in Granville, NY on Wednesday, November 30, 2022. She was born on March 2, 1936, to Milton Alden and Madaline R. (Stearns) Twiss in Craftsbury, VT, where she grew up. As a teenager, the family moved to Wilder and she raised her family in Hartford. Lucille was always a kind and nurturing figure, when her children were young, her home was open to all of the neighborhood kids and she loved having them there. Her time with her family brought her immense joy and happiness; she loved teaching her grandchildren to bake, cook, and knit. In fact, any activity that they ever wanted to do was fine with her, she never told them no.

She is survived by four daughters Jan Taylor and husband Daryn of Jaffrey, NH, Phyllis McCoy and Michele Basham, both of Poultney, and Gail McCoy of Hartford; five siblings Rebecca Melendy of Wilder, Francis Twiss and wife Jeanette of Hartwell, GA, Elaine Southard of Liverpool, NY, and Anita Pease and husband Roger and Dean Twiss and wife Bea, all of Calhan, CO; nine grandchildren Tanya, Makaylah, Matthew, Phillip, Nathaniel, Adrian, Nicholas, Justin, and Ken; great grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings Pearl Earle, Larry Twiss, Roberta Smith, Judy Sears, and Diana Moore; one daughter Vicki Backus; and one granddaughter Mandy Sue McCoy.

A visitation will be held on Wed., December 7, 2022, from noon until time of service at 1pm at Knight Funeral Home, White River Junction, VT. Interment will follow in the Hartford Cemetery.
