WINDSOR, VT
Louella E. "Peanut" Hurlburt, 90, a longtime resident of Windsor, passed away Wednesday, September 28 at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor.
She was born in St. Albans, VT the daughter of Charles J. and Mabel A. (Kingsley) Chagnon. She received her schooling in St. Albans. She married Francis I. Hurlburt in Lebanon, NH on May 25, 1946. They moved to their home, which Mr. Hurlburt built, on Brook Road in Windsor in 1951, where they resided until their passing.
She was employed at the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Windsor for thirty years. "Peanut" was fond of spending time at the family camp on Lake Champlain and fishing on the lake. She and her husband enjoyed traveling to Florida, where they spent the winter months for fifteen years. They truly enjoyed spending time with their family and many friends. Mr. and Mrs. Hurlburt also enjoyed going to yard sales as well as having their own yard sales. Her husband of sixty nine years, Francis, passed away on May 21, 2015.
She was also predeceased by her parents and her brothers and sisters.
Survivors include one son, Francis I. "Buzz" Hurlburt, Jr. of Windsor, two daughters, Linda Yatsevich and Jackie Cardaropoli, both of Claremont, NH, seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
At her request a graveside service will be held Thursday, October 6 at 2:00 PM in the Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor. The Rev. William Sheldon will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Springfield Humane Society at 401 Skitchewaug Trail, Springfield, VT 05156.
The Knight Funeral Home in Windsor is entrusted with the arrangements.
