Obituary

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, VERMONT - Lottie Parker Chubbuck, 85, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH

She was born in Gilsum, NH January 31,1925, the eldest daughter of W. Edward and Glenna (Kennett) Parker. They moved to Brookfield, VT while she was still a young child and lived on the family farm until she left to attend high school in Chelsea, VT.
She was married to Robert "Mike" Holmes in 1943. They moved to West Hartford, VT and later to White River Jct. She and her husband owned the Mike Holmes Trucking Company, which they sold when they divorced in 1968.
She worked in various woolen mills around the Hartford, Lebanon, and Enfield Area. She married Leslie Chubbuck in 1970, they continued to live in White River Jct.
She attended Classes at Lebanon College and started work at Dartmouth College in 1967. She worked in the Alumni Fund and in Purchasing until her retirement in 1989.

She was a longtime member of the VFW Ladies Aux Post #2571 and the American Legion Ladies Aux post #26 both of White River Junction. She spent many years in the color guard for the VFW traveling around the state to take part in Parades and conventions.

She is predeceased by both husbands, an infant daughter and her only other daughter Donna Gaffney Welch in 2007, two sisters Irene Parker and Doris Bjorkman; three brothers Clinton, Clayton and Paul Parker.

She is survived by four sons and their spouses, David and Betti Holmes of Chatham, NY, James and Donna Holmes of Oshkosh, WI, Stuart and Pam Holmes of White River Jct., and Andy and Sue Holmes of Lebanon, NH; a son-in-law Ron Welch of Wilder, VT; a step daughter Leslie Ann Andrews of Mulberry, FL. Seven sisters Marion Gilman of Chelsea, VT Ruth Brown of Randolph, VT , Evelyn Greene of Meredith, NH, Jean Flint of Albany, VT, Nancy Potwin of Hartland, VT, Joyce Potwin of Pomfret, VT Phyllis Boles of South Royalton, VT and a brother Edward Parker of Hartford, VT; sixteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Sunday, January 2, 2011 at the Knight Funeral Home from 3-5PM. a memorial service will be held Monday a 11AM at the Funeral Home.
