WINDSOR, VT
Lorraine G. Hull, 87, a longtime resident of Windsor, passed away Monday evening, June 1, at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health in Windsor surrounded by her family.
She was born March 19, 1928 in South Royalton, VT the daughter of Loren C. and Winona (McGuire) Greene. Following the death of her father, at the age of two, she went to live with her grandparents, Matthew and Belle McGuire, on their farm in South Royalton. She received her schooling in South Royalton and graduated from South Royalton High School in 1946. She married Maurice L. Hull in Vergennes, VT on November 11, 1948. Lorraine worked for a few years for New England Telephone, and later in life was employed at State Street School, Mt. Ascutney Ski Area and at the Windsor Chronicle for several years.
She was active in Windsor County Partners and volunteered with the American Red Cross Blood Mobile for fifteen years. She also was a past member of the Windsor Lions Club and the American Legion Post #25 Auxiliary.
Mrs. Hull was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. She and her husband enjoyed attending Windsor Athletics and were named Fans of the Year. They were also proud sponsors of the Hull's Electric Softball Team for many years. She also loved to dance, play cards and attend family gatherings. She took great pleasure in having been an extra in the movie "Funny Farm".
Mr. Hull passed away on April 15, 2010. She was also predeceased by her parents.
Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Hull, Shannon Harrington and Shelley Seward and her husband, Glenn, all of Brownsville, three sons, Kerry Hull of Keene, NH, Scott Hull and his wife, Karen of Weathersfield and Kelly Hull and his wife, Sally of Strafford, VT, eight grandchildren, Michelle Distefano, Darby Boudro, Brendan Harrington, Daniel Harrington, Colton Hull, Ben Bauer, Jeremy Bauer and Emma Bauer, four great grandchildren, Logan Boudro, Jonathan Davie, Olivia Distefano and Kylie Hull, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening, June 4 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor. A graveside service will be held Friday, June 5 at 11:00 AM in the Brownsville Cemetery in West Windsor. The Rev. William Sheldon will officiate. A reception for family and friends will follow at the Brownsville Community Church.
