Hartland, VT – Lori Ann Rugg, 58, died peacefully Wednesday afternoon, October 25, 2023, at her home. She was born August 16, 1965, the first of two daughters of George and Carol (Valcourt) Ashline. Lori grew up in Hartland, VT and graduated from Hartford High School. The following year, Lori was accepted at the New England School of Hair Design in Claremont, NH. She completed her beautician training but decided to go in a different direction. After working at a few different businesses, including Goodyear, Ferzells Construction, and Thermal Dynamics, she settled into a full-time position at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center where she worked as an admission clerk. She worked there until her health forced her to retire with an early diagnosis of Lewy Body Dementia.

Lori enjoyed watching racing and met stock car racer, Robert Rugg, at Claremont Speedway in 1986. They were married a year later in 1987. They made their home off Shute Road in Hartland, VT.

As mentioned, Lori enjoyed watching racing, shopping, especially for the Christmas season, but most of all she loved her dog, Haley.

She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Lisa Ashline Frazer. Lori is survived by her husband, Robert M. Rugg, of Hartland, VT, her stepson, Rob M. Rugg, and his wife, Enid, of Hartland, VT, stepdaughter, Karen McGuire and her husband, Mike of Lisbon, NH, nephew, Dunkin Frazer of Hartland, VT and niece, Jasmine Frazer of Windsor, VT as well as her many friends.
