WINDSOR, VT
Loretta S. Bacon, 85, a longtime resident of Windsor, passed away Monday morning, December 12 at the Brookside Nursing Home in White River Jct., VT.
She was born February 13, 1931 in Randolph, VT the daughter of Everett and Bessie (Arbuckle) Sager. She received her schooling in Randolph and attended Randolph High School. She married Edward R. Bacon in Randolph on August 5, 1948 and they moved to Windsor that same year. Loretta was a loving wife and mother and enjoyed raising her family.
She was a member of the Rachel S. Harlow United Methodist Church in Windsor where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was also an active leader with the Girl Scouts and Brownies in Windsor. She was a former member of the Vermont Society of Artists and Craftsmens. She was fond of knitting, crocheting, sewing and needlecrafts, and enjoyed attending craft shows with her daughter Cheryl. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mr. Bacon passed in 1999. She was also predeceased by her parents and one sister, Barbara Jean Phelps.
Survivors include, three daughters, Cheryl Stone and her husband, David of Windsor, VT, Veronica Majewski and her husband, Scott of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Martha Carlstrom and her husband, Alan of Hurricane, WV, one sister, Lois Butterfield of Randolph, VT, three granddaughters, Katrina Moore of Wells, VT, Sara Carlstrom of Morgantown, WV and Amy Carlstrom of Charlton, MA, three step grandchildren, Leann Bryce of Hinesburg, VT, Jason Stone and his wife, Crystal of Windsor, VT and Korina Gagne of St. Albans, VT, one great granddaughter, Sophia Stackpole, three step great grandchildren, Ethan Bryce, Carly Stone and Kayla Stone, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening, December 15 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor. The funeral service will be held Friday, December 16 at 2:00 PM at the funeral home, with Rev. Earl Dionne, Pastor of the Rachel S. Harlow United Methodist Church in Windsor, officiating. Committal services will be held in the spring in the Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor.
