Lloyd Barbour, 89, died Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the Sullivan County Nursing Home in Unity, NH.
Lloyd was born May 29, 1921 in Hartland, VT the son of Harold and Jennie (Clogston) Barbour. He attended school in Hartland and Windsor. Lloyd served in the US Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater. Upon his return he went to work as a machinist at Cone Automatic in Windsor retiring after forty years. He was married to Evelyn Tewksbury April 5, 1952 in White River Junction, VT.
Lloyd was a member of United Brethren Lodge #21 FA&M and the Veterans of Foreign Wars both in White River Junction. He enjoyed small engine repair, caning chairs, woodworking, and square dancing with his wife.
Lloyd is predeceased by his wife Evelyn; a son Robert; a grandson; and four brothers, Milton, Eldon, Ralph, and Floyd.
Lloyd is survived by two sons, William Barbour of Quechee and Kevin Barbour of Hartford; a daughter Nancy LaBelle of Quechee; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Wednesday, March 2, a the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction from 6-8 PM a funeral service will be held Thursday at 10AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Hartland Village Cemetery at a later date.
