Brattleboro, Vermont – Linda Sue Willson, 80, passed away on Thursday afternoon, July 25, 2024, at Pine Heights Brattleboro Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. Born on February 1, 1944, in Little Rock, Arkansas, Linda was the daughter of Merle and Margaret (Olsen) Allison. Linda grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, where she graduated from Des Moines Technical High School. A few years later, on June 4th, 1966, she married Rodney Clive Willson, and they made their home in Des Moines, raising three children. The family later moved to various locations as Rodney sought new opportunities. In June 1988, Linda and the children followed Rodney to Vermont, initially residing in a house in Taftsville before purchasing a home in Quechee. They briefly lived in Hartford, Vermont, as well. A devoted "stay-at-home" mom, Linda cherished raising her children and managing her household. As her children grew and grandchildren arrived, she delighted in new joys and adventures, often taking the little ones to places like the Lebanon Airport to watch the planes and take them to the park or just out to lunch. Linda loved to help others, but she also enjoyed activities for herself, particularly playing Bingo and attending events and dances at the Des Moines Elks Lodge. She was predeceased by her husband, Rodney, and her sister, Janice Ketelsen. Linda is survived by her daughter, Kristen Sue Pratt, and her partner, Daniel of Charlestown, NH; sons, William Willson and his fiancé, Jodie Weston, of Enfield, NH; Todd Willson of Manchester, NH; four grandchildren, Timothy, Ashley, Mariah, and Hannah; three great-grandchildren, Harper, Olivia, and Josie; her sister, Peggy Noble of Kansas; her brother, James Allison of California; and several nieces and nephews. A cremation has taken place, and calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 1, from 5-7 PM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, VT. A graveside service will be scheduled at a later date at the North Concord Cemetery in North Concord, VT, where Rodney is buried.
