Chelsea, VT – Linda O. Stone, 74, of Chelsea, died Tuesday evening, July 6, 2021, at the Gifford Medical Center in Randolph, VT.  She was born on November 3, 1946, in Montpelier, VT to Walter and Pauline (Guyette) Smith. Linda was a hands-on Mom who shared her love of the outdoors with her children and grandchildren. Summers were best spent feeling the grass and earth in bare feet while breathing in the sweet scent of lilacs and enjoying the hummingbirds buzzing through the air. Many special memories were created experiencing warm summer evenings at the Drive-in theater. She loved family cookouts, birthday parties, and holidays at their special place, the Wilder Dam. When the weather kept her inside, she enjoyed completing puzzles and chatting with her grandchildren to keep up on all the gossip in their lives.

Linda is survived by three daughters, Lena M. Druge of Grantham, NH, Lisa Emery of Grantham, NH, and Carmen Lee Farnham of White River Junction, VT; two brothers, Steven Smith of Hardwick, VT and Raymond Stone of Hanover, NH; six grandchildren, Jason Shute, Alaina Druge, Kristianne Broadwell, Marshall Dimick III, Alex Martin, and Chantelle Farnham; fifteen great grandchildren; two former husbands, Thomas Oakes and Ralph Stone; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Richard Smith; a former husband, Stanley Broadwell; and a longtime partner, Earl Farnham.
