Linda A. Ryback, 54, died Saturday July 24th at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
Linda was born May 2, 1956 in Springfield, MA a daughter of Harry and Lillian Thornton. She grew up in the Springfield area and graduated from Southwick High School. While raising her family she fell in love with the White Mountains of New Hampshire and moved to Plymouth, NH. Linda spent most of her adult life working in restaurants both in Massachusetts and the Plymouth area, including Frannie's in Thornton, NH. She lived in and around Plymouth until moving to Windsor, to be with her daughter, three years ago after beginning her battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
She will be fondly remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who always had an open door to anyone needing help. She would want everyone who knew her not to mourn her death but to celebrate her life.
She is survived by three sons Peter Ryback of Windsor, VT, Tom Carr of Glastonbury, CT and Roger Brooks of Charlestown, NH; four daughters Christina Ockington and Rebecca Lary both of Windsor, VT, Kimberly Lary of Manchester, NH and Katie Hernandez of Key Largo, Fl; ten grandchildren Jeremy, Jasmine, Joseph, Little Jeremy, Tiffany, Tom, Abby, Savannah, Sahara and Samara; three brothers Roger Thornton of Springfield, MA, Robert Thornton of Springfield, MA and Roland Thornton; two sisters Liza Curry of Feeding Hills, MA and Dina Brown of Rehoboth, MA as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother Ronald Thornton.
Friends may call at the Rachel S. Harlow United Methodist Church in Windsor on Friday July 30th from 2:00 to 4:00PM. The memorial service will held at 4:00 PM at the church, with the Rev. Ken White, Pastor, officiating. The Knight Funeral Home in Windsor is entrusted with the arrangements.
