SPRINGFIELD, VT
Leslie E. Novak, 74, a resident of Springfield, passed away peacefully Friday evening, March 10, at her home in Springfield surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 4, 1943 in Bridgeport, CT the daughter of Fairchild P. and Gladys M. (Frandsen) Whitworth. She graduated from Andrew Ward High School in Fairfield, CT and then attended Dean Junior College, also in Fairfield, where she earned her Degree in Fine Arts.
Leslie was a talented artist, spending many years on the craft show circuit while raising her two children. At one time she owned and operated a retail shop and dealt with two galleries in Woodstock, VT to sell her work. She also worked as a stencil restorationist, bringing the internet stenciler Moses Eaton's work back to its original brilliance. In addition to her artistic talent, Mrs. Novak enjoyed quilting, knitting, rug hooking and embroidery.
She was also, an avid gardener of perennials and herbs and was proud of her collection of antique roses. She was well known for her baking and canning, and was a true naturalist. She loved to joke around and had a way of calming people. Family and friends meant the world to her.
Survivors include her daughter, Kirsten A. Anoe and her husband, Keith E. Anoe of Lisbon Falls, ME, her son, Brett M. Novak and his partner, Cindy Dumont, both of Woodstock, VT, two grandchildren, Chelsea S. Anoe and Kaleb H. Anoe, and one great grandson, Jaxson K. Mulligan.
At Mrs. Novak's request, services will be held at the convenience of her family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rockin'T Rescue at 60 Edgewood Road, Lisbon Falls, ME 04252 or to the charity of one's choice.
The Knight Funeral Home in Windsor is entrusted with the arrangements.
