Leonard Earl Sargent

Weathersfield, VT – Leonard Earl Sargent, 87, died on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Mt. Ascutney Hospital in Windsor, VT. Leonard was born on May 31, 1938, in Claremont, NH to parents Leonard J. and Gladys (Blake) Sargent. He was a skilled mechanic who spent his career at Gear Shapers and worked on small engine repair out of his home. He married Judy Carol (Morse) Jarvis on May 5, 1984, in Weathersfield, VT. Together, they enjoyed camping and the special communities that formed each summer at several campgrounds across Vermont. Leonard was a talented woodworker and shared and sold his lawn decorations and crafts to friends, family, and fellow campers.

Leonard is survived by his wife Judy of Weathersfield; son Jeffery Sargent of Weathersfield; one sister June Bundy of Milton, VT; four stepchildren Jeff, John, Jennifer, and Billie-Jo; many grandchildren, four great grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two children Leonard R. Sargent and Karen Louise Sargent, and many siblings.
