WINDSOR, VT
Leonard A. Lasure, 82, a resident of Windsor and formerly of Hartland, passed away Saturday afternoon, August 1 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.
He was born April 1, 1933 in Hartland the son of Lee D. and Florence (Rockwood) Lasure. He received his schooling in Hartland Four Corners and graduated from the Randolph Agricultural School in Randolph, VT. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean Conflict. Following his honorable discharge he returned to Hartland and worked on his brother's dairy farm in Hartland for several years. He most recently was employed as a machinist at the former Cone Blanchard Machine Company in Windsor for over twenty five years until his retirement. Leonard was a member of the Windsor American Legion Post #25. As a younger man he enjoyed playing baseball and softball. He was also fond of hunting, fishing and snowmobiling.
He was predeceased by his parents and by three brothers, Lee Lasure, Jr., Mansfield "Tuppy" Lasure and Kenneth Lasure.
Survivors include one sister, Irene Campbell, and her husband, William of Hartland, two sister-in-laws, Beverly Lasure of Island Pond, VT and Judy Lasure of Windsor, several nieces and nephews.
At his request there will be no formal services. Committal services will be held at the convenience of his family in the Hartland Village Cemetery.
