Leona A. Nott, 90, a longtime resident of Reading passed away Friday morning, January 13, at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor.
She was born February 24, 1921 in Stockbridge, VT the daughter of Robert M. and Flossie (Blanchard) Ashley. She received her schooling in Stockbridge. She married Chauncey L. Nott in Bethel on June 21, 1939. They moved to Reading in 1949 and were later divorced. Mrs. Nott was employed at the former Cavendish Woolen Mill and later at Taylor Tie Manufacturing in Cavendish. She was also employed at Jewetts Shoe Factory in Wilder. She most recently had done home sitting for several families throughout the Upper Valley.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Randolph.
She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting.
She was predeceased by her former husband on March 28, 1997.
Survivors include one son, Raymond C. Nott of Natural Bridge, VA, one grandson, Lemuel Nott of Charlestown, NH, one granddaughter, Annmarie Jones of Maryland, NY, two great grandsons, Chauncey Nott of Claremont, NH and David Jones of Maryland, NY.
At Mrs. Nott's request there will be no formal services.
The Knight Funeral Home in Windsor assisted with the arrangements.
