IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Leighton James
Alexander
September 14, 1971 – January 5, 2025
Leighton James Alexander, 53, of Woodstock, VT, died unexpectedly at home on Sunday, January 5, 2025.
Leighton was born on September 14, 1971, in Springfield, VT, to Douglas Alexander and Teresa Flynn. He attended Woodstock Union High School attaining a GED before graduation. Following high school he began his career as a stone mason working for John Barnes. Later, he established his own construction company, which eventually evolved into a successful contracting business. Leighton took great pride in his work and was known for integrity and a strong work ethic. He was continuously striving to better himself and was approaching 24 years of sobriety.
He had a love for motorcycles and classic rock music. A few months before his death, he finally acquired a 2014 Harley Street Glide. Within the last year, he attended a Noah Kahan concert with his "Tiny." He was just beginning the life he overcame powerful demons for. He was a remarkable man.
In his younger years, Leighton was an accomplished skier, having mastered both east and west coast slopes managing to only break a few bones along the way. Above all, his greatest love was for his children, his dogs, and his family.
Leighton was preceded in death by his father, Douglas Roy Alexander, Sr; and his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by two daughters, Anastasia Alexander and Gabrielle Rozumek and a son, Alfred Rozumek all of Woodstock, VT; mother, Teresa Maureen Flynn of Red Springs, NC; aunt, Kelly Flynn of Fort Worth, TX; uncle and aunt, Mike and Larissa Flynn of Lyndonville, VT; grandmother, Laura Griggs; sister, Stephanie Alexander; brother and spouse, Douglas Roy Alexander, Jr. and Mandy Alexander; an aunt and uncle, Ginny and Mike Barr; and his nieces and nephews all of Reading, VT.
