Norwich, VT- Leah M. Coutermarsh, 63, died Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Lebanon Center Genesis Eldercare in Lebanon, NH.
Leah was born January 30, 1956 in Lebanon, NH a daughter of Walter and Jean (Gray) Coutermarsh. She grew up in the Upper Valley and in 1971 the family moved to Benson. She graduated from Fair Haven High School class of 1974. She moved to Hartford, VT and worked at the Robert Lewis Bindery. She later moved to Hinsdale, NH and started her 18 year career with Boise Cascade Paper Company in Brattleboro, VT. In 2004 she moved to Castleton, VT and worked in Fair Haven at Curves for Women and later Mrs. G's Grocery Store. In 2019 she returned to Norwich to be closer to family and friends.
Leah enjoyed crafting, crochet, sewing and working in stained glass. She was an exceptional baker and loved cooking.
Leah is a former member of the Eagles Family Fraternity, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and Four H.
She is predeceased by a sister Theresa Jane Smith and a niece.
Leah is survived by two brothers, Walter Coutermarsh, Jr of Benson, VT and William Coutermarsh of West Rutland, VT, two nieces, a nephew, several cousins and aunts including a special cousin and friend Joan Smith.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November, 23 at 10am at Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction. Interment will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in White River Junction at a later date. Condolences may be expressed in an online guestbook at www.knightfuneralhome.com.
