Lawrence M. Papineau, 75, died Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative Care in Lebanon, NH.

He was born December 9, 1948, in Hanover, NH, a son of Lawrence W. and Gladys (Goodhue) Papineau. Larry grew up on his family's farm on Costello Road in Hartford that he always referred to as "The Farm" and attended Hartford High School before serving in the US Army. After returning from his military service, he was married and raised his family in Wilder where he has lived since. Larry worked as a mechanic at several area garages including many years at Hartford Motors in White River Jct. until they closed.

Larry loved time with his dogs, Blitzy, Sadie and Daisy; especially taking them on walks and hikes at The Farm. He also enjoyed shooting and competed in silhouette events, fishing on the Connecticut River in Norwich and Wilder and hunting on The Farm. His life's dream was to one day return to The Farm and now, with the help of his grandson, Bud, he will rest there peacefully for eternity.

He is survived by his daughters, Tonya Papineau Caswell of Swanton, VT and Lisa Mae Pugh of North Haverhill, NH; grandchildren Tony "Bud" Pugh, III, Abigail Rose Stockton, Sam Caswell and Rosie Caswell, great grandchildren, Hadley Anne Pugh and Evelyn Rose Pugh; sisters, Rosemary Fogg of Montana, Pamela Papineau LaBounty of Michigan and Sherry Papineau of Wilder, VT; brother, Roger Holbrook of New York as well as several nieces and nephews. A brother, Jimmy Papineau, a sister, Margaret Ross and a son-in-law, Tony Pugh, II., predeceased him.
