White River Jct., VT - Lauri Ann Nalette, 68, died Friday, July 26, 2024, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
She was born May 28, 1956, in Hanover, NH, a daughter of Wilfred E. and Marion A. (Cone) Nalette. Lauri graduated from Hartford High School with the class of 1974. During high school, Lauri enjoyed being involved in the school choir. After graduation, Lauri had opportunities to sing with other groups.
In the late 1970's, Lauri and her cousin Terri traveled to Europe, enjoying bus tours through England, Germany and Italy.
After high school, Lauri began her career in food service at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She continued to work at the VA until retiring due to numerous health issues in the mid-1990s. Following her retirement, she continued to volunteer at the VA and received several service awards over the years.
Lauri met Steven Orcutt while working at the VA and they have been life partners for the past several decades. In the early years of their relationship, they enjoyed traveling to Niagara Falls, and trips to visit friends in Detroit and New Jersey.
Lauri was very sociable and loved visiting with people regardless of whether she had known them all her life or just met them. She will be fondly remembered for her sharp sense of humor, leaving everyone she met with a smile on their face. She also enjoyed her crafts, including sewing, crocheting, and cross stitching.
She was predeceased by her parents, Wilfred and Marion, brothers, Ernie and Leonard Nalette and sister, Colleen Nalette.
She is survived by her fiancé, Steven Orcutt of White River Jct.; sister, Gloria Nalette of White River Jct., brother, Peter Nalette (Nancy) of Wilder; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Lauri also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Joanne Wood.
Visitation will be held from 1-3pm on Sunday, August 11th, 2024 at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. A service will be held at 2pm on Monday, August 12th at the funeral home with burial to follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
