Obituary

Laurette J. Woodward, 93, passed away at The Hospice House of Summerville, SC on May 24, 2022.

She was born, June 24, 1928 in Hartford, Vermont. A daughter of Albondius and Adrienne (LaPorte) Vincent. She was one of 15 children: Juliette T. Vincent (deceased), Peter J. Vincent (deceased), Noel J. Vincent (deceased), Mary J. (Vincent) Davis of Windsor, VT, Eulalia M. (Vincent) Wilcox (deceased), Paul J. Vincent (deceased), Lucille M. (Vincent) Follensbee of White River Jct., VT, Daniel E. Vincent of Chandler, AZ, Alice A. Vincent (deceased), Robert J. Vincent of Hartland, VT, Andrew A. Vincent of Lebanon, NH, Francis R. Vincent (deceased), John A. Vincent of Sharon, VT and Lawrence B. Vincent of FL.

Mrs. Woodward attended the Hartford School in White River Junction, Vermont. Growing up, she worked baby sitting and at a rubber factory at one point. She was married to Richard R. Woodward, Sr. on June 6, 1950 at St. Anthony's Church in White River Junction, VT. She worked babysitting, Vic's Diner and McDonald's before working at the Hartford Elementary School serving school lunch for several years.

She had five children, Theresa A. (Woodward) Lund (deceased), Jeanne M. Woodward (deceased), Baby Boy Woodward (deceased), Richard R. Woodward, II of Fairfax, VT, and Violet R. (Woodward) Walsh of Summerville, SC.

After retiring, she and her husband moved to Crestview, FL. They returned to Vermont every summer and parked their camper on the hill next to their original home that they built together. In her free time, she enjoyed painting and other arts and crafts. She enjoyed weekly dances at the Elks club in Hartford, VT where she was a lifetime member and served as president of the emblem club for a term. As a member of the Bugbee Senior Center, she entertained other seniors as a clown. She was a member of the Red Hats and would often be seen wearing her favorite red hat.

After 14 years in Florida, the couple returned to Vermont. After the passing of Richard R. Woodward, Sr. in 2019, Mrs. Woodward moved to Summerville, SC with her daughter, Violet R. (Woodward) Walsh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony's Church in White River Junction, VT on Monday, June 13 th , 2022 at 11AM, with burial to follow next to her husband in the Glenwood Cemetery in Lebanon, NH.
