BROWNSVILLE, VT
Laurene A. Cormier, 71, a resident of Brownsville, passed away Friday morning, March 16 at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor.
She was born March 27, 1946 in Winchendon, MA the daughter of Edwin and Loretta (Lawrence) Hammerberg. She received her schooling in Worcester, MA and moved to Vermont in 1977, where she attended Vermont Community College in Norwich. She married Paul O. Cormier in Windsor on August 24, 1985. She was a loving wife and mother and enjoyed raising her family. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor. She enjoyed socializing with her friends and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed crocheting, crafts and making jewelry. She especially was fond of spending time at the beach and watching dolphins. She truly loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents and step father, Leonard Block.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Cormier of Brownsville, two sons, Derrick Cooper of Windsor, and Paul "PJ" Cormier, II and his wife, Michelle of Hartford, VT, two daughters, Laurie Picard and her husband, Robert of Claremont, NH and Brenda Cooper of Chittenden, VT, one brother, Larry Hammerberg and his wife, Gail of Worcester, MA, one sister, Lynn Watson and her husband, Robert of Springfield, VT, fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 10 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor.
