Windsor, VT – Kent W. Wakefield, 60, died at his home on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, and was born on May 16, 1964, in Ticonderoga, NY to Walter F. and Vivienne Z. (Sanderson) Wakefield. The large family moved to Reading, VT when Kent was in grade school.

Kent was a talented carpenter and was especially skilled in finish work; he enjoyed working alongside his brother Butch for many years building houses. In his home workshop he worked creatively to build unique pieces for family and friends.

Kent enjoyed hunting and fishing from boyhood and throughout his adulthood, an interest and bonding experience that he shared with his sons, brothers, and later his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Tina Wakefield; two sons Bruce and Josh Wakefield; two stepchildren Tabitha and Kyle Wakefield; five siblings Kim Wakefield, Kip Wakefield, Sue Longfellow, Sandra Knowlton, and Jana Childs; six grandchildren Pippa, Isaiah, Tyler, Summer, Jasmin, and Nalayah; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings Butch, Terry, and Randy.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm on May 16, 2025, at Ascutney Cemetery.
