IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenneth R.
Keith
December 7, 1957 – October 14, 2024
Hartland, VT- Kenneth R. Keith, 66, died Monday, October 14, 2024, at home with his family by his side.
Kenny was born December 7, 1957, in Geneva, NY, son of John and Patricia (Stevens) Keith. He attended Lawrence Academy in Groton, MA and Hyde School in Bath, ME. Kenny met his wife doreen Knox in middle school and they married in 1977. Shortly afterward, Kenny entered the Army. They were first stationed in Colorado Springs, CO and later in Germany. He was honorably discharged and then returned to Northborough, MA. In 1989 they made their home in Hartland. Inspired by his grandfather's tremendous success as a Vermont farmer, Kenny built and operated a small goat dairy on his new farm which also had sheep, chickens and a couple of jersey cattle at times.
Kenny was a lifelong truck driver and created several businesses from his extensive experience and entrepreneurial spirit. He would find a niche and fill it. He deeply enjoyed building his ideas. The phrase "let's grow this thing" became synonymous with his being. His last venture was bringing 9 Harrison Ave in WRJ back to life as a bustling commerce lot on the rail line. He was very proud of his work and the meaningful connections with the people he worked with who also shared his vision.
Kenny had a deep sense of curiosity and enjoyed exploring his hobbies. He spent a few years racing his late model stock car. He was an avid fan of music and would share his favorites with his family so often it was hard to keep up. He spent time working on playing the guitar and always enjoyed a good concert. He liked to play golf and would take his father, children and grandchildren to the course whenever possible. He was an exceptionally good cook and was the regular dinner chef at home. Most of all, Kenny loved to be with his family. Spending time with them was his top priority. He often spoke about how he and his wife, being small business owners, gave him the unique and treasured opportunity to work with his family and have them close by every day. He was a very proud and loving husband and father which deepened and grew exponentially with his grandchildren.
Kenny is preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Rumrill and his infant son, Brandon. He is survived by his beloved wife, doreen Keith of Hartland; daughter, Diana Seaver and her husband Joshua Dunne of Dallas, TX, daughter, Libbi Keith of Hartford, and son, Jared Keith of Hartford; three grandchildren, Aida Seaver of Hartford, Mitalia Keith of Claremont, and Rex Baning of Hartford; his father John Keith of Albany, NY; two brothers, Edward Keith of Westford, MA and Michael Keith of Douglas, MA; and several nieces and nephews.
