AN ARTIST AND A GENTLEMAN….

Kenneth Theodore Fogg Jr., husband to Janet, father to Raylin, Shelley, Darsey, and Mitchell passed away peacefully with a full-on, well deserved Veteran's salute from his caregiver on October 30, 2021 at the age of 94, just shy of his 95 th birthday. Ken was born in Hanover, New Hampshire on December 8, 1926. He attended Hartford High School and skipped his last year to enlist in the Air Force, where he flew in the Flying Fortress B17's as a gunner's mate supporting allied missions during World War II of which he was extremely proud and felt honored until the end.

Ken attended the New England School of Art in Boston MA, graduating in 1951. Ken was a talented artist that had many one-man exhibits in Auburn, Wellsville, New York, Boston, and many other areas around New England. His talents enabled him to work with many types of media including oil and water based paint, India ink, and charcoal, to name a few. Ken shared his talents by conducting weekly art classes and had his paintings used for illustrating many books. Ken also loved to do woodworking projects making myriad pieces of furniture and lamps. Many local families now have their walls adorned with his amazing art.

During that time, he met the LOVE of his LIFE, the former Janet DeGroff, married and settled in North Hartland, Vermont, where they raised their family. Ken was an avid outdoorsman, gardener and loved nature and camping. His paintings often included birds in- flight and he loved watching them as they came to his several birdfeeders that he would make sure were always full no matter the weather. He was a skilled hunter and fisherman and according to Joe, his son in law, The Fish Whisperer. He somehow seemed to know just what they were thinking and shared his amazing secrets with only his closest allies…because after all, they are secrets!!!

Ken worked for New England Telephone and Telegraph Company as an Equipment Installer, climbing poles and installing home phone systems throughout Vermont and New Hampshire. Ken was a great husband and father who provided undying love and support to his wife, children, and dog Lexie. Ken will be sorely missed by all that had the pleasure to meet and come to know him, and as one neighbor said, "He's quite the fellow, that guy". His wife preceded him in death and they will now reunite. They both leave a long-lasting legacy with four Children (Raylin, Shelley, Darsey, and Mitchell), seven grandchildren (Joshua, Ryan, Mickey, Jamie, Matthew, Alex, and Mckenzi), and six great grandchildren (Hailee, Isabella, David, Anii, Sawyer and the newbie, Tuck).

The family celebrated Jan and Ken's reunion and a wonderful tribute to their life and the family that they created at a very special place called Gordan's pond where they shared so many special wonderful memories with friends and family.

Ken spent the last 5 years at Cedar Hill in Windsor, VT where he met many friends and created a legacy there as well. Well-loved and a little bit sassy, he will be missed by many. In lieu of flowers, please send bird seed to Cedar Hill in Windsor, VT in his name where there is a very special memorial garden with lots of bird feeders in Loving Memory of Ken Fogg.
