Obituary

Lebanon, NH – Kenneth F. "Bud" Henry, lifelong resident of Lebanon, NH died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. He was born November 15, 1935, in Lebanon, NH the son of Francis and Beatrice (Kimball) Henry. He was raised along with his brother and four sisters, in Lebanon where he attended school. Bud had a hard childhood and left Lebanon High School as a junior to enlist in the US Marine Corps. He served three years with the Marines, two of which he was stationed in London, England. When he returned to the Upper Valley, he began his long and successful career as a carpenter. His skills and hard work ethic established him as one of the most sought-after carpenters in the Upper Valley. Bud was responsible for building many family homes in Hanover, Lebanon, White River, and the surrounding area.  He was mostly self employed but often worked as a team with his brother Punky Henry. Later he also worked with his son, Doug. In his prime, there were few carpenters that could match his finish work talents.

He was married to Jane Adams and they had three children. They were later divorced. Twenty-six and half years ago he was introduced to Betty Eubanks, and they became life companions. They have lived together for the past couple of decades in their home on Mechanic Street in Lebanon.

During his retirement years, he kept himself busy helping family and friends with construction projects and wood working projects in his small shop. His bird houses included church, barn and covered bridge designs that were both functional and beautiful.

Though not a traveler out of the Upper Valley region, Bud loved to take rides around the local area with Betty, looking at antiques and getting his beloved scratch tickets.

He was predeceased by his brother, Francis "Punky" Henry, sisters, Gloria Larmire and Judy Campbell.

Bud is survived by the love of his life, Betty Eubanks, his daughter, Pamela Valentine and her husband, Glen of Lebanon, NH, sons, Phillip and Jeffrey of Claremont, NH, Douglas and his wife, Cheri of Norwich, VT, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, sisters, Barbara Fielden and Betty Renault both of Lebanon, NH and many nieces and nephews.

At his request a private family viewing will be held followed by cremation. A celebration of his life and graveside service will be held later in the springtime in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Lebanon, NH.

Memorial contributions maybe made to the American Heart Assoc., 434 Hurricane Lane, Williston, VT 05495.
