Fairlee, VT - Kathy Jo Stocking, 62, passed away peacefully at Barre Gardens nursing home in Barre, VT on Wednesday, September 9th, 2020.

Kathy was born on April 24th, 1958 in Randolph, VT, a daughter of Nelson and Shirley Chadwick. She is a graduate of Hartford Hartford High School, Hartford VT class of 1976.  After high school Kathy graduated from Champlain College, during which time she met the love of her life and a year later in 1978 they were wed, celebrating their 42nd wedding anniversary on the day of her passing.

She started her own daycare in her home in which she practiced for 18 years. She then practiced as a Pharmacy Technician for Kinney Drugs, ending her career as a Customer Service Representative for COOP food stores.

Kathy loved children and she loved helping people, she had a heart to serve and a smile that was contagious. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She loved a good cup of coffee, sitting on her front porch in the sun, and was an avid bird lover.  She had a green thumb and you could always find her within the depths of her beautiful garden.  She prided herself on the home they had built, never-ending the upkeep of the property.  She enjoyed camping and loved the coast of Maine where she annually spent time on the beach.

She is predeceased by her parents Shirley (Chadwick) Johnson, Nelson Chadwick, and Step Father Conrad Johnson. Kathy is survived by her beloved husband Jeff Stocking,her daughter Stacey (Stocking) Dunham, son in law Todd Dunham, her two grandchildren Jesse & Jacob Dunham as well as her four siblings.

Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction assisted with arrangements. Condolences to Kathy's family may be expressed in an online guestbook at www.knightfuneralhomes.com . In keeping with her wishes, a service will be held under the tree in which her plot resides at Mount Olivet in Hartford, VT.
