Kathy L. Mullen

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, VERMONT-
Kathy L. Mullen, 53, died Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family and friends.

She was born March 11, 1957 in Bellingham, Washington, the daughter of Eugene K. and Georgia M. (Walker) Aarestad. She attended the Bellingham schools and graduated from Mount Baker High School in Bellingham. She attended the Merritt Davis Business College in Eugene, OR. She was married to Randall Mullen June 14, 1986 in Florence, Oregon. They Lived in Fresno California while Randall completed college. In 1988 they moved to Scappoose, Oregon where she worked as a staff accountant for Greg Young, CPA. In 1995 they moved to Monett, Missouri where she continued her work in accounting. They then moved to Bradford, Vermont in 2000 to be nearer to the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth. During this Time she worked for West Staff in West Lebanon. The family moved to Fairlee, Vermont shortly there after, where she opened the Fairlee Village Quilt Shop. She then went to work for Wal-Mart in 2004 where she worked as a sales associate until she was no longer able to work; they moved to Wilder in 2009

She was an avid quilter, and enjoyed sewing, knitting, and spending time with her children and grandson. Kathy was devoted to her faith and a forty year believer of her Christian Faith.

Kathy was loved and supported by her family and a host of friends. She will be truly missed. She was always available to lend an ear or a helping hand

She is survived by her husband, Randall Mullen of White River Junction; three sons Maxwell R. Mullen of Lebanon, New Hampshire, Trevor L Mullen and Benjamin M. Mullen both of White River Junction; a grandson, Liam Mullen; her parents Eugene and Georgia Aarestad of Texarkana, Texas; three brothers, Steve Aarestad of Silverdale, Washington, Scott Aarestad of Springfield, Oregon, and Robb Aarestad of Fulton, Missouri; and five sisters, Virginia Welch of Texarkana, Heather Carr of West Palm Beach, FL, Melody Rudolph, of Santee, California, Phebe Spiller of West Palm Beach, FL, and Linda Leach of Belle Fourche, South Dakota.

Friends may call Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 10-11AM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, A funeral service will follow at 11AM. Interment will be in the Hartford Cemetery in White River Junction.
