Quechee, VT - Kathrine Ohaus, 49, died Tuesday May 27, 2025, at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH of system-wide infection and organ failure.

She was born March 16, 1976, in Hanover, NH. Kate attended schools in Rutland and Thetford, spending much of her youth in Post Mills, VT before graduating from Hartford High School. She earned her bachelor's degree from Evergreen College in Olympia, WA and later did postgraduate work at Antioch University in Keene, NH. Following college, she worked in the hospitality industry for a time before beginning her career helping others through several human service providers in the Upper Valley. Kate moved to Quechee fifteen years ago and has lived there since.

A green thumb came to Kate naturally and she loved gardening and growing plants.

She was predeceased by her biological mother Cynthia Mariotti and her sister Kelley Ann Ohaus and leaves her parents John and Ann Ohaus of Hartford.

A private committal service will take place in the Riverside Cemetery in Woodstock at the convenience of the family.
