Obituary

White River Jct., VT – Kathleen "Kay" Fuller, 95, died April 7, 2011 at Brookside Nursing Home in White River Jct. after a brief illness.



She was born July 4, 1915 in Malone, NY a daughter of L. Reed and Helene (Safford) Orton. One of her fondest childhood memories was traveling across country with her parents and two of her three sisters as they moved to Colorado. She was married to Frederick L. Fuller July 17, 1937 in St. Albans. They moved to the Upper Valley in 1942 where she took an active role within the community serving as a USO volunteer during WWII, a troop leader with the Girl Scouts, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served a Worthy Advisor to the Rainbow Girls. She was also a reading mentor at the White River School with Everybody Wins VT. Mrs. Fuller worked for many years at Sears and Roebuck in Lebanon, NH and after her retirement she and Mr. Fuller managed Running Bear Campground for several years.



She is predeceased by her husband Frederick in 1985 as well as two sisters, Virginia Main and Dorothy Denault.



She is survived by her three children, Patricia K. Clerkin and her husband John of White River Jct., Linda R. Hathorn and her husband Roy of Avon Park, FL and William R. Fuller and his wife Donna of Soddy Daisy, TN; four grandchildren Marlie Keenum and her husband Jason, Sara Cooney and her husband Scott, Beth Gardner and her husband Aaron, Jennifer O'Keefe and her husband Chris, six great grandchildren; a sister Corinne Moyle of Groton, MA as well as several nieces and nephews.



A memorial service will be held at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. at a date to be announced later.
