White River Junction, VT- Karen M. Potter, 57, died, Monday, August 28, 2023, at home with her husband and daughter by her side.
Karen was born October 14, 1965, in Suffern, NY, a daughter of David and Lorraine (Hardy) Marcotte. She graduated from Hartford High School in 1983, and went on to earn a degree from Champlain College in Burlington, VT. After completing school, Karen went to work for Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in the cardiology department. She was married to Jeff Potter on June 20, 1992, in White River Junction where they lived for a time before moving to Quechee, VT. Karen retired from Dartmouth Hitchcock and worked as a substitute teacher in the Hartford Schools. They recently moved back to White River Junction.
Karen loved to read and would haunt all the local libraries looking for the next book. She enjoyed watching the Red Sox play, vacationing in Maine with her family, cross stitching, beach trips with her best friend Karen Fogg, and carrying on the tradition of planning the annual Christmas get togethers with her mother's good friends Terry and Karen.
Karen is survived by her beloved husband, Jeff Potter; a daughter, Kalyn Potter, both of White River Junction; a son, Adam Potter of Waterville, ME; and a brother, David Marcotte of Portsmouth, NH.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, September 8, 2023, at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, VT from 5-7pm. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Hilltop Cemetery in Quechee, VT.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dartmouth Cancer Center, One Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH 03756 or to the Bayada Foundation, PO Box 1590, Norwich, VT 05055.
