Karen B. Crawford

Hartford, VT — Karen B. Crawford, 76, died Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, with her daughter at her side.

Karen was born May 28, 1950, in Hanover, NH, a daughter of Russell and Marjorie (Berry) Hutchins. She attended Norwich schools and graduated from Hanover High School in 1968.

She worked at The Listen Center, where she was involved in social justice efforts, managed Harry’s Exit 18 Truck Stop, and later at Decato Brothers Trucking working as a short-haul truck driver. Karen eventually went on to work in home healthcare as an aide, retiring due to her health.

Karen was a member of and deeply involved with the Watson Upper Valley Dog Park, where she spent many hours with her beloved dog, Bella. She was always serving others and had a truly giving spirit. Karen was known for her ability to make people laugh and for brightening the day of those around her. She had a strong work ethic and was exceptionally dependable.

Karen is preceded in death by a brother, Clayton Hutchins and sister Nancy Wing.

She is survived by a son Forrest Aldrich of Manchester, NH; a daughter Kristin Rehm of Goffstown, NH; two grandchildren, Brodie Crawford and Quinn Rehm; two sisters, Jean Quinlin of Elizabeth City, NC; and Pam location unknown and her best friend Kitty Call of North Hartland, VT.

A celebration of Karen’s life, followed by a potluck reception, will be held Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Greater Hartford United Church of Christ reception hall.
