Canaan, NH- June C. Davis, 89, died Saturday evening, September 24, 2016 at Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, NH.
She was born May 30, 1927 in Passaic, NJ, daughter of Trevor and Kathryn (Stauffer) Rees. She grew up in New York City and attended school there. She went to work for Nabisco where she worked as a proof reader. She moved to Salinas California in the 1970s and met and married Arthur Davis there, where she worked as an administrator for the Marin County Municipal Water District. June moved to Canaan to live with her daughter in 2010.
June was an avid reader, and was passionate about the arts. attending the theater when ever possible with her daughter, she was also involved in costume design and acted in several theatrical productions. June loved to sing in her church's choir, listened to opera, classical music, and music from the 30's and 40's.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family on or around her birthday in 2017. Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction assisted with arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
