Claremont, NH - Julie Simone Demers passed away on December 31, 2025, at Sullivan County Health Care in Unity, NH.
Julie was born on October 1, 1964, in Hanover, NH, to George and Anne (Austin) Demers. She graduated from Thetford Academy in 1982, where she was active in sports. Julie then earned an associate's degree from Champlain College and her bachelor's degree in Computer Science from St. Michael's College. She moved to New Jersey to work as a computer programmer at the home office of the Burlington Coat Factory. Later, she relocated to Lebanon, NH, where she bought and remodeled a house with her father. In 2011, after completing that project, Julie moved to Claremont and began another home renovation adventure with her father.
Julie was known for her passion for home improvement and decorating. She enjoyed riding motorcycles and traveling with her mother and sister to Disneyland, western New York, South Dakota, and many other destinations over the years. She had many pets, including Troy, her first Belgian Tervuren shepherd, who held a special place in her heart.
A loving caregiver for her uncle Ed Austin who was terminal and lived nearby. Always on call; taking him for appointments and rides, running errands, and listening to his old stories.
She is preceded in death by her father George Demers. Julie is survived by her mother Anne Demers of Thetford, a brother Jeffrey Demers (Lauren) of Barre, VT; three sisters Candace Farewell of Fairlee, VT, Annmarie Lareau (John) of East Dorset, VT, and Michelle Batchelder of North Thetford, VT; her dog and devoted companion Penny; and nieces and nephews Danielle (Ashton), Renee (Alok), Monique, Michael (Kaitlyn), Sara (James), Matthew (Alyssa) and Ethan (Allura).
Visitation will be held at the Knight Funeral Home in White River junction, VT from 10-11am Saturday, January 17, 2026, followed immediately at 11am by a service at the funeral home. A private burial will be held in the spring at St. Francis Cemetery in Windsor. All who know Julie are welcome to join in honoring her memory.
