Hartford, VT – Judy M. Sears, 75, died peacefully, Friday afternoon, August 20, 2021 at the Mt. View Center in Rutland, VT with her daughter by her side. She was born, August 2, 1946, in Lebanon, NH,  the daughter of Milton and Madaline R. (Stearns) Twiss.

She graduated from Hartford High School in 1964 and worked for CRREL in Hanover, NH for a short time before she began her long career at Veteran's Administration Credit Union where she worked as a loan officer for over thirty years.

Judy was a lifelong member of the Greater Hartford United Church of Christ and served as the church's treasurer for thirty-five years. She loved the church and donated countless hours of serve working every church bazaar, Christmas sale, church dinner and any fund raising function.

But without a doubt her greatest love and enjoyment was time spent supporting her grandson, Scott, be it a sporting event, graduation ceremony, family outing or any of his many accomplishments. Scott and "Nannie" as he affectionately called her, shared a very special and unique bond.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Diana Moore and Roberta Smith.

Judy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Joseph Emmons of Hartford, VT, a son, Brian Sears of White River Jct., VT, her grandson, Scott Tracy of Hartford, VT, two brothers, Francis Twiss of Hartwell, GA, Dean Twiss of Calhoun, CO, four sisters, Lucille McCoy of Poultney, VT, Rebecca Melendy of Wilder, VT, Anita Pease of Calhoun, CO, Elaine Southard of Liverpool, NY, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Thursday evening, August 26 from 6-8PM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., VT. Funeral services will be held Friday morning, August 27 at 11AM at the Great Hartford United Church of Christ in Hartford Village. Burial will follow in the Hartford Cemetery in White River Jct., VT.
