WINDSOR, VT
Joyce Eileen Braley, 73, a resident of Windsor passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning, February 18 at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor.
She was born May 21, 1941 in Wilder, VT the daughter of Roderick and Bernice (Campbell) Thurston. She received her schooling in White River Jct. and attended Hartford High School. She married James McSwain, Jr. in Cornish, NH in 1962 and they were later divorced. She married Dale Braley, Sr. in West Canaan, NH in 1973 and they were later divorced.
Joyce was employed at the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Windsor, Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center, and Luminescent Systems in Lebanon before working as a server at several Upper Valley restaurants for many years.
She was fond of doing jigsaw puzzles, watching western movies, baking and cooking. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to Arizona. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and especially with her dear friend, Priscilla Spencer of Windsor.
Survivors include, three daughters, Gayle Isenor and her husband, Thomas of Cornish, NH, Liza McSwain of Windsor, and Jennifer Liang and her husband, Robert of Franconia, NH, one son, John McSwain of Cornish, NH, one brother, James Thurston of Hartford, VT, one sister, Patricia Rondeau of Plainfield, NH, thirteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, February 27 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor. Committal services will be held in the spring in the family lot in the West Lebanon Cemetery.
