Joseph Brian, "Joe" Ockington, 46, a resident of Windsor left this life on Friday, February 16th at 10:25 pm in the comfort of his own home after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born June 4, 1971 in Claremont, NH, the son of Simone Howard and Joseph Donatelli.

Joe was predeceased by his grandparents, one aunt and uncle, and his adopted father Byron Ockington.

Survivors include his loving wife, Jamie Ockington, his mother's longtime companion,David Legacy as well as his five sons, Joseph Moffitt, Corey Follansbee, Jacob Ockington, Austin Ockington, Landon Converse and his daughter, Samantha Ockington, three brothers, Richard Faucher, Timothy Ockington and Allen Howard, all of Windsor Vt, two sisters, Lisa Nugent- Ockington of Windsor, and Amanda Gilligan of New York, two grandchildren, Harmony Danforth and Brady Ockington, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Although he lost his fight with cancer, his strength will always remain present. His strength was the foundation of his family. As well as his great sense of humor, compassion and understanding, Joseph also was very talented as a musician, mechanic, carpenter, handyman and most importantly, at being a great husband and father. Joseph enjoyed fixing things and making things work. His hobbies also included watching Nascar and being a committed fan of racing until Jeff Gordon retired.

The Knight Funeral Home in Windsor assisted with the arrangements. There will be a celebration of his life on Saturday, February 24th from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Ockington residence at 56 Jarvis Street in Windsor.
