White River Junction, VT-Joni Nichole Willcox, 43, died September 27, 2022 at home unexpectedly.

Joni was born December 11, 1978, in Colorado Springs, CO a daughter of David and Esther (Duran) Willcox. Joni attended Immanuel Lutheran School in Colorado, Hartford High School, and River Valley Community College where she earned a nursing degree. She specialized in geriatric care and took great pride in caring for our community's elders.

Joni had a most wonderful sense of humor, and you could always look to her to help you look on the bright side of life. She offered a kind support that allowed loved ones to share their troubles with ease. She loved to draw and write. She greatly enjoyed the simple pleasures of spending time with family and sharing an evening together watching a movie. Doting on her grandchildren, reading to them, and playing games meant the world to her. Her main concern was always her children and grandchildren.

Joni was preceded in death by her father, David Willcox, Jr. of Colorado Springs, and infant granddaughter, Heaven McEwan.

Survived by her sons, Isaac McEwan of White River Junction, VT, Ryan Leonard of Hartland, VT, granddaughter, Neveah McEwan, grandsons, Bjorn Richard McEwan, Anthony, David and Bentley; her mother, Esther Willcox of Bradford, VT, sister, Cheri Anne Garduno of Colorado Springs, sister-in-law Catherine Garduno of Colorado Springs, brothers, Leonard Garduno of Claremont, NH and Daniel Carollo of Sammamish, WA, many extended family members and friends, and her faithful pet dog, Tyson.

Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Friday, October 7, 2022 at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, VT. Interment will follow in the Upper Plain Cemetery in Bradford, VT.
