John B. Tom
White River Jct., VT – John B. Tom, 64, died May 24th at his home in White River Jct., VT.
He was born February 16, 1947 a son of Benjamin and Alice (Bacon) Tom in Tahlequah, OK. John grew up in Oklahoma and served in the US Army during Vietnam from 1965 until his discharge in 1971. He has lived in Vermont for over twenty years where he has worked in landscaping, at ski resorts, as counselor for the state of Vermont probation and parole and most recently in security at Computac in West Lebanon, NH.
John was an avid gardener and enjoyed working in his yard.
He was predeceased by two brothers Buddy and Levi Tom and two sisters Louisa Kruger and Charlotte Tom.
He is survived by his mother of Red Oak, OK; a sister Elizabeth Terrell of Oklahoma City, OK; two brothers Joseph Tom of Oklahoma City and Benjamin Tom of Spiro, OK as well as several nieces and nephews including his niece Jennifer Tom of Fort Smith, OK.
Friends may call at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., Friday June 10th from 2-3PM. A memorial service will follow at 3PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date in the Vermont Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center, VT.
