Windsor, VT – John E. Springer, 92, died Sunday December 27th at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor, VT.
He was born December 30, 1916 in Portland, ME a son of Lewis E. and Adelaide (Poole) Springer. After graduating from Windsor High School he enlisted in the U.S. Army, prior to World War II and served in the Pacific throughout the war. He was married Jane Pastore May 10, 1947 and they have lived in Windsor since.
Mr. Springer was an avid and talented golfer and was the Windsor Country Club Champion several times.
He is predeceased by three brothers Lewis E. Springer Jr., Richard P. Springer and Robert G. Springer.
He is survived by his wife of sixty two years and a daughter Lisa Champagne both of Windsor, granddaughter Jaimie Champagne of Lawrence, MA and a grandson Gregory Champagne of Colorado Springs, CO as well as several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held in the Spring in the Ascutney Cemetery. Knight Funeral Home in Windsor was entrusted with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
