Quechee, VT- John Reed, 70, died Thursday afternoon, July 11, 2019 July 11, 2019 at Lebanon Center Genesis Eldercare in Lebanon, NH surrounded by his loving family.

John was born July 30, 1948 in Hanover, NH a son of Edward and Pauline (Woodward) Reed. He graduated from Lebanon High School class of 1966 and attended Plymouth State College for a time. He later went to work for Campion's as a salesman. John was married to Dawn Dutille on June 23, 1973 at St. Anthony's Church in White River Junction. They made their home in Norwich where they raised their children. After nineteen years at Campion's he took a job at Gateway Motors in White River Junction as a salesman. They later moved to Quechee where they have been since.

John was the former President of the Lebanon Alumni Association, the Hanover Chamber of Commerce and the Norwich Lions Club.

He loved remodeling and building. He was very artistic and a talented musician who enjoyed playing guitar, singing, writing music, songs, poems and stories. John also express his talents in drawing and working with wood.

He is predeceased by his father, Edward Reed and stepmother Betty and mother Pauline DeCoteau, and a sister Joan Wilson.

John is survived by his wife, Dawn Reed of Quechee, VT; a son Patrick Reed and his wife Becca of Norwich, VT; a daughter Penny Berry and her husband James of South Carolina; six grand children, Maddie, Connor, Ryan, Bridget, Xander and Ellie, who were his pride and joy; a brother Tony LaBarre of Japan and three sisters Nancy Corette of Rhode Island, Sandy Morrin of Newport, NH and Debbie Wetzel of Rhode Island and many nieces and nephews.

A visiting hour will be held Monday, July 15, at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction from 11AM to Noon immediately followed by a memorial service at 12PM noon at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in White River Junction, VT. Condolences may be expressed to John's family in an online guestbook at www.knightfuneralhomes.com .
