John David Osborne, 67, died Saturday morning, April 9, 2016 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire. John was born June 16, 1948 in Keene, New Hampshire. He was the son of Earl Wallace Osborne and Ruth Rosaline Bisbee Osborne. John grew up in Westmorland, New Hampshire and graduated from Keene High School. After graduation he enlisted in the US Army and was stationed in South Korea during the Vietnam era.
After his military service, John received his Bachelors Degree in Art Education from Plymouth State College. John soon realized that teaching was not for him! After taking some time off selling his art work and washing dishes, he discovered the new world of computers and began a long and successful thirty three year career as a software engineer.
John retired from Hewlett Packard in Nashua, New Hampshire in 2006.
John married Becky Ruth Howe on May 4, 2012 in Brownsville Vermont. They have made their home in Brownsville for the past eight years. John was an active member of the First Universalist Society in Hartland Four Corners Vermont where he served on the church board and for several years as church president. John loved to share his art
work with the church and friends. John had many hobbies and interest. He loved sailing in the Caribbean and Boston Harbor, building models and traveling. He was very involved in politics and an avid supporter of Bernie Sanders! John never stopped learning and trying new ideas and adventures.
John is survived by his wife of Brownsville and daughter Katherine Osborne of Phoenix, Arizona and her two children Seven and Zane, also a stepson William Pierce Klotz and his wife Sara and their children, Logan, Audra, Moira and Rebecca of Fort Humphrey South Korea.
Graveside services will be held on Friday May 20 at 1pm in the Brownsville cemetery in Brownsville, Vermont with Reverend Paul Sawyer officiating.
