John T. Murphy
Jefferson, NH – John T. Murphy, 74, died Tuesday March 22 at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in White River Jct., VT.
He was born March 15, 1937 in Greenfield, MA a son of Alvin John and Anna (Riley) Murphy. John grew up in Conway, MA and graduated from the Class of 1954 at Arms Academy in Shelburne Falls, MA before attending Northeastern University and receiving his Bachelor's Degree. He served with the US Navy from 1958 until 1962 as an Electronics Technician First Class stationed in San Juan, Puerto Rico. John retired as an electrical engineer from Green Engineering in Melrose, MA and resided in Tewksbury, MA for many years. He later moved to Taos, New Mexico, where he enjoyed working for a time as a ski instructor at Taos, before settling more recently in Jefferson, NH.
Mr. Murphy was an avid skier and is a former president of the Lawrencian Ski Club in Bartlett, NH. He was also a volunteer firefighter in Conway, MA and Jefferson, NH.
He is predeceased by his two sisters Margaret Murphy Salter and Kathleen Murphy.
He leaves a daughter Marjorie Proulx and her husband Brian Proulx and a son Charles Murphy all of Haverhill, MA; two granddaughters Jennifer Murphy and Tara Proulx and three nephews.
At Mr. Murphy's request there will be no services at this time.
