White River Jct., VT - John Scott McDougall, 62, passed unexpectedly, at home on November 1, 2023.

He was born in Connecticut, February 17, 1961, a son of Jack and Ingrid (Hedwig) McDougall.  John grew up in Strafford, CT where he graduated from high school before attending college.  He worked as a life insurance agent for several years in Connecticut before moving to the family homestead in South Royalton.  After moving to the Upper Valley, he began his family and worked as a security officer at Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital in Lebanon.

John loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and staying fit weightlifting.  Most of all he loved spending time with his three children including attending all of their sporting events when they were in school.  John will be remembered for his friendly outgoing spirit and could make friends wherever he went.

John leaves his three children, Dalton McDougall, and wife Morgan of Dummerston, VT, Cheyenna Horky of Lebanon, NH and Colt McDougall of Hartland, VT, as well as a brother Pete McDougall of South Royalton.

A graveside service will be held in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Royalton at a later date.
