East Thetford, VT – Dr. John Holbach, 76, passed 17 th of March 2021 surrounded by his loved ones at the Jack Byrne Center in Lebanon, NH.
John was born October 6, 1944 in New Britton, CT, the son of Joseph and Anne B. (Coyne) Holbach. He graduated from Georgetown University in 1970 and served as a Lieutenant in the US Navy. He practiced dentistry for almost fifty years, the majority of time, here in the Upper Valley where he and his wife cared for the underserved and low income community.
He enjoyed music, woodworking and was a lifelong guitar student. He was an excellent storyteller and is most loved for the lives he changed and the smiles he created in his patients for over half a century.
John was predeceased by his parents and a brother James Holbach. He is survived by his wife of over forty-two years, Karen (O'Grady) Holbach of East Thetford, VT, their sons, Shaun Holbach of Barton, VT, and Dustin Holbach of Fairlee, VT, a grandson, Gabriel Swamp of White River Jct., VT, his seven siblings and their families.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date, to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome in his honor to the ALS Foundation, or to a charity of your choice.
