John E. Fletcher
White River Jct., VT – John E. Fletcher, 59, died Sunday December 2, 2012 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH surrounded by his family.
John was born September 17, 1953 in Lebanon, NH a son of Luther J. and Barbara (Crouse) Fletcher. After graduating from Hartford High School Class of 1973 he was married to his high school sweetheart, Koni Burnham, on April 27, 1974. They made their home in White River Jct., where they lived for the past thirty eight years. John owned and operated Fletcher's Store in Hartford Village for several years. He later worked as a paraprofessional at Hartford High School, and most recently he has operated Safe-T-School Transit.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. Despite health problems John continued to enjoy hunting trips to Canada whenever he could. In his younger years he enjoyed playing men's league softball. He liked watching sports, especially the New York Yankees and also enjoyed trips to Foxwoods Casino. Most of all John loved his time with family and friends, especially his grandson, Brandon.
John was a member of the Hartford Lodge 1541 B.P.O.Elks and the Hartford Rod & Gun Club.
He was predeceased by his father, Luther Fletcher and his mother, Barbara Wadleigh; two sisters, Elaine Small and Rebecca Senna as well as a brother David Wadleigh.
He is survived by his wife, Koni, of White River Jct.; his daughter Kristy Lynn Driver and her husband David and son Brandon of Windsor; four brothers Jay Fletcher and his wife Betty of Lafayette, LA, Fred Wadleigh and his wife Lynn of Mesa, AZ, Jim Wadleigh and his wife Bonnie of Northfield, NH and Frank Wadleigh and his wife Melanie also of Northfield, NH; his brother-in-law Ernest Small of Hartland, his step-father David Wadleigh Sr. of Tilton, NH; his step-mother Barbara Sprague of Lyme, NH; several in-laws that he was especially close to including his father and mother-in-law, Fay and Barbara Burnham of White River Jct., and several nieces, nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. Thursday December 6th from 2-4PM and 6-8PM. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Friday December 7th at 11AM. Private burial will take place at a later time in the Hartford Cemetery also in White River Jct.
