Enfield, NH - John Nelson Farewell, 73, of Enfield, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. John was born on April 7, 1949, to Austin and Gretchen (Pero) Farewell, the youngest of six children. In 1969, John married Louise Sholes of New London, NH and together they had two children. In 1982, after Louise's passing, John married Shelley Follensbee and three more children were added to the family.

John spent his adult life raising his family, working his farm, driving tractor trailers, and twisting wrenches. He took great pride in a job well done and enjoyed meeting many wonderful friends along the way.

John was predeceased by his wife Louise (Sholes) Farewell; his parents Austin and Gretchen Farewell; three brothers Austin, George, and Milton Farewell; one sister Helen Delfino; and one grandson Ted Haley III.

John is survived by his wife of forty years Shelley Farewell; their five children John A. Farewell of Claremont, NH, Catherine Haley (Ted) of Corinth, VT, Raymond Fielder of Enfield, NH, Kristina Duff (Earl) of Grantham, NH, and Angela Crandall (Seth) of Canaan, NH. John is also survived by one brother Clyde Farewell of Enfield; grandchildren Tristan, Tyson (Jessica), Keevan, and Keyanna Haley, Sierra and Starleigh Fielder, Angel Walbridge, Jesse and Matthew Farewell, and Ceeanna, Abagail, Myah, and Kailey Crandall; and five great grandchildren Adalyn and Dante Haley, Jesse Farewell II, and Jeremy and Mia Garrison.

John was a loving husband and father and a trusted friend who will be forever missed by those who love him. A private graveside service will be held of immediate family only in Elkins, NH.
