Randolph, Vermont – John Stephen Caswell, 62, formerly of White River Jct., VT, died Monday, April 17, 2017 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. He was born April 14, 1955 in Lebanon, NH the son of James and Viola (Vivian) Caswell.
John grew up in West Lebanon and attended Lebanon High School. Later he received his G.E.D. and went on to receive his Associate Degree in Human Services Counseling. John was a free spirit and held many different jobs throughout his life. He was most proud of his work as a substance abuse counselor assisting people at Next Step, Head Rest and the Haven. He was licensed as a NH Recovery Coach and received two awards for his community service helping many people through their addiction recovery. He was an accomplished Poet, Publisher and Artist. John enjoyed traveling, hiking and loved to spend time in the woods.
John was predeceased by a brother, Ralph Caswell
He is survived by three sons, Stephen "Jake" Caswell and his wife Elisabeth, James Caswell and his wife Jamie, and Eli Labelle and his wife, Bobbie Joe, all of Omaha, NE, ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a brother, James Caswell of Randolph, VT, three sisters, Beth Caswell of White River Jct., VT, Chris Rice of Williston, VT, Kathy Caswell of West Lebanon, NH, as well as several nieces and nephews.
