Joanne Rose Fernandes, 55, passed away peacefully at the Jack Byrne Center in Lebanon, NH, surrounded by her loving family on April 20, 2023 . She was born on April 16, 1968, in Lowville, NY to Eugene F. Pomerville and Jean M. (Bush) Porreca.

Joanne attended high school in Hartford, VT and graduated from the Community College of Vermont with a degree in Business Management. She was an avid motorcyclist and reader who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, animals, gardening, cooking, hunting, and music. She was loving and loyal, and never missed an opportunity to share a kind word or a hug with any who may need it.

More than anything, Joanne loved and cherished her children and grandchildren, who were her entire world.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Thomas Fernandes; her sons and daughters-in-law, Corey and Heather Fernandes; and Sean and Holly Fernandes; her four grandchildren, Bailey, Wyatt, Bryce, and Caleb; her father and step-mother, Eugene and Patricia Pomerville; her brothers and sisters, brothers and sisters in-law, nieces and nephews, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.

She is predeceased by her mother, Jean M. Porreca; brother, Timothy F. Pomerville; nephew, Christopher T. "Critter" Scott-Smith; mother-in-law Alethea "Lee" Fernandes; and her maternal and paternal grandparents, Richard and Margaret Bush, and Noel and Emma Pomerville.

A graveside service and celebration of her life will be held at 10AM on Friday, June 30th, 2023 in the Hilltop Cemetery; 60 Cemetery Road in Quechee, VT.
